Apple Watch

A woman named Maragret Teeheart who liked plain things, had just gotten a package wrapped in zig-zagged wrapping paper. There was also a silver and gold bow with a  ribbon from her secret admirer.  She knew it was from a secret admirer because it said, “Dear Maragret, your welcome, but no need for thanks, Love your secret admirer.”   It was a watch that had a forest green color and hot pink polka dots, which she disliked because all the colors popped in it.  She thought it was just an ordinary watch, but she realized, the hard way, she was wrong.

 

Every day she would leave the watch in her plain black backpack when she went to her school, Red Wheel Middle School.  Everyday the watch got heavier and heavier in her backpack until it was as heavy as a giant boulder. The next day Maragret said “I’m done with this watch!”  She dragged her backpack outside and lifted the watch with all of her might.  She put the watch on the sidewalk, got a cardboard box and cut a piece of cardboard.  Maragret went back inside and grabbed a black marker. She wrote “Please take it, it’s free!” 

 

Maragret came back the next morning and found the piece of cardboard on the ground.  She started to cheer because she thought the heavy watch was gone.  Maragret went over to reclaim her piece of cardboard and saw a small soft, but scratchy red fabric box underneath the piece of cardboard.  Maragret opened it to a note and the watch.  The note said “Please be thankful for the gifts you get, This watch is very special.” 

 

 

Maragret was angry and didn’t want to carry the heavy watch. She got ready and used all of her might again.  She lifted the watch up and flew backwards, and hit her head off the fence near her.  Maragret was confused, the watch was just a normal watch. It was all black with white strips.  “The strips are a little too fancy,” said Maragret, but she didn’t want to be picky anymore.  After she said that, Maragret was afraid it would be heavy so she dropped it.  

 

Then that night she came outside and looked in the sky, she saw a watch shaped constellation. She also didn't see the black and white striped one on the ground where she left it. She glanced at the constellation, then she saw it was obviously an apple watch. Without doubt there was a modern day apple watch as a constellation, but Maragret never found her black with white stripes watch. From that day on Maragret was always thankful for what she got, even if she didn’t get anything, she wouldn’t complain.
